Vivienne waved goodbye to her son with a grin plastered on her face. Aiden only gave a little wave, as he was already occupied with walking along to class with the other kindergarteners. A small sigh escaped her lips. She had a full day to herself - now that she didn't have work that day. A lot of people hated Mondays, but Viv was lucky enough to take the time off. It was just the opposite of a work day for her. But sometimes she'd just become completely lonely. She was always used to having Aiden around, without that little man playing hard she found herself lost in her own thoughts. It was just so quiet.
This being said, the blonde turned on her heel and climbed back into her car. Heading back home, she planned on making a trip to the beach. It was finally warming up and she's been craving the time to go back down there even if she didn't dip in the water. Her favorite part was the sun and the sounds of the waves anyway. Besides, all of this winter stuff made her feel cooped up - she needed to get out and stay away from looking pale. Viv slipped off her coat at the nearest streetlight. She was always prepared. All she had to do was change into her bikini and she'd be good. Viv knew she could sit there soaking in the sun until it was time to pick Aiden up.
Arriving at the familiar parking lot, she quickly found a good spot. She knew not many people would be at the beach this time of year, even if it was warming up. Viv felt as thought everything was going her way, a little smirk played on her lips as she clicked her heels to the ladies room. Slipping on a pair of sunglasses, the blonde ran a hand through her thick hair, carrying her bag and a handy beach towel in her hands. Feeling the sand mess between her toes as she shuffled closer to shore was the absolute best. Viv had always felt as thought this beach was hers. Lounging on her towel and absorbing the sun with her arms resting on her forehead, she felt more at home. How often she would come down here, since she lived so close when she was younger. Maybe she'd just stay like this for a few hours, ignoring her stomach for a while. Maybe even take her little man out for dinner. The thought settled in her mind as she closed her green-blue eyes.

Travis loved California almost as much as he loved Tennessee. He was glad that he had been able to enjoy the beach despite it being in the dead of winter. Back in New York or any other northern state, it was probably snowy and miserable. Not in California. The tour had stationed itself here for about two weeks, half of which was already passed. Originally, they were only going to stay a few days but the sold out shows demanded more dates, more shows, in more locations. Prolonging their stay would be ideal for everyone involved. Travis loved hanging out with his fans and having a good time. There was hardly a day he wasn’t game for something stupid, reckless, and out of the question. The screaming girls were always a plus too. Being single meant he could do whatever the hell he wanted to. Trav loved his freedom more than anything else he could think of. It was a pretty good life that he lead. Although he wasn’t always proud of his mistakes, he was happy and that’s what mattered.
Waking up in the middle of the afternoon, Travis decided he’d join the rest of his band mates at the beach for a barbecue and some volleyball, football, or another beach sport. It’d be great to enjoy the sun before they had to get to work later on tonight. Trav got ready in no time and before long he was walking from his hotel down the boardwalk to the beach. The sun was extra bright as he reached the sand, making him lower his aviators to shield his eyes. Seeing his band mates, he met up with them and jumped in on a volleyball game that was already in full swing. Knowing guys, they will go all out for sports and this occasion was no exception.
Serving up the ball, Travis used most if not all of his strength to send it over the net. The defense player missed blocking the ball, which conveniently hit the ground hard next to the blonde sunbathing not far away. Trav watched, almost laughing in anticipation of the girl’s reaction to a little sand on her towel. Girls always tended to make something out of nothing. Deciding to defuse any major situation, Travis made his way over to grab the ball from her side before she could peg it at any one of them. You okay darlin’? He asked her raising an eyebrow as he reached for the ball cautiously. The last thing he needed was a swing to his gawgeous face.

Nothing was more perfect than Malibu Beach. Sometimes she'd felt it was all hers. Mainly for the reason that she grew up waking up to the sound of its waves and the sight of its bright sand. It was just nice and brought a small smirk to her face. She took in a breath, hearing some volleyball players not too far to her side. One of the other natural things there. She used to always try and get into some games with the guys, but this time was different. She'd been inside an awful lot and sun bathing was the one thing on her mind.
Vivienne was a brink of dozing off when sand flew up on her and her beach towel. She jerked a bit, looking to her side to see a volleyball. Viv began to reluctantly get up when one of the guys came up to pick up the ball. “What the hell was that?” she exclaimed, sitting up now. A flow of anger rushed through her. It was discouraging to have to shake off her towel now after she was finally getting a rest in. She rolled her eyes at his simple question and got up. “Oh I'm just fine,” she said sarcastically before pulling up her towel and shaking it out. Just then Viv wanted to just shake all the sand on this guy, but of course she didn't.
Viv hadn't really look at him through her dark shades. She was too preoccupied on getting the sand off her towel. “Just take the ball and teach your friends how to play.” It happened and she knew it more than anyone. The comment was just from her annoyance of it all. She finally looked at him, pursing her lips and running a smooth hand through her hair. Viv frowned at his familiar face. She gave him a once over before saying, “Wait...” She'd been with a lot of guys before, but she knew exactly who he was. Or so she thought she did. Then again she didn't want to be wrong, so she waited for a response.

It was always funny to see how girls overreacted about silly little things. The ball landing next to her was clearly an accident, so Travis couldn’t help but to laugh at her a little. Oh calm down dollface. Travis rolled his eyes. The sand wasn’t going to hurt her or leave her skin damaged and scarred. As soon as she urged him to take the ball far away from her, he was more than happy to oblige. He tossed the ball up and caught it before he turned to leave her to be miserable to herself. Just as he thought himself to be free of the blonde monster, she told him to wait. What? he asked curiously and slightly agitated he couldn’t run back to his friends.
Her staring at him made him feel slightly uneasy. What was she looking at anyway? In turn, he looked at her, trying to recognize her. There was some similarities she shared with one of his ex girlfriends, the attitude was one of them. Viv was always such a diva about everything. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t get her to do any of the fun stuff like camping and riding horses or anything. It was just her personality to be prissy and perfect. It was something he liked though because at least one of them had common sense.
The more he thought about it, in those few short seconds, the more she looked like her. But it couldn’t be, he hadn’t seen her in years. Why? Because she left him. Trav made sure that she got her money for Aiden though, he wasn’t a dirtbag. Viv? he asked curiously. He looked around her to see if the boy was there. Seeing that he wasn’t, Trav frowned in disappointment. Sorry again. I thought you were somebody.

"What?" he'd asked. Viv bit her lip in thought. What was she supposed to say? 'Hey, you're the the father of my child, the boyfriend I'd left.' It had been years, so seeing him was certainly a surprise, nonetheless the expression on her face told otherwise. She did want him to figure it out before she could, that way it wouldn't be an awkward exchange of words. (For her anyway). Vivienne watched as he slightly peeked around her. Impulsively, she glanced back at the ground and finally knew what he was searching for. Aiden. Something seemed to change his mind, so she had to speak up before he walked away. "No. I mean- yea I'm Vivienne." She nodded a bit before going on, "Travis?"
There was no point in asking, she knew it was him the moment he flashed her that smirk of his. Sure, Viv had her handful of guys at her feet before, but that didn't mean she couldn't remember a face. He was almost the complete opposite of her at times. Besides, since having Aiden, her social life had almost diminished. She couldn't seem to truly trust anyone with her little boy. So going out was almost out of question. On occasions she would, but every guy she'd dated in the past few years were almost too up tight or beyond crazy for her. It got annoying - viv knew there was enough of her, she didn't need her boyfriend to be like that either. In the end, she was glad under her shocked exterior to see Travis.
Pulling a few blonde strands out of her face due to the ocean breeze, Viv didn't hesitate to say more. "Aiden's in kindergarten." She pulled the sunglasses of her eyes and over her head. It was a bit strange saying this, and for some reason it made her feel guilty. Especially with the way he had looked around her for him, just to be sure himself.

Travis had to think about the last time he saw Vivienne, and his son, Aiden. It was hard and it wasn’t something he liked to think about. He had been heartbroken the day she decided she wasn’t going to stick it out with him and that she’d rather be alone than with him. She had disappeared into thin air and left him without any contact information. If she didn’t want to be with him, that was fine but to take Aiden with her was just selfish. Now that he had missed out on years of his son growing up, he didn’t really know how to deal with it. He hoped everyday that Aiden wouldn’t grow up hating him for not being around. Trav had tried, but failed. It was all in the past now but perhaps he had a chance of making things better and at least repairing his relationship with Aiden.
Yeah. She already knew who he was, so there really wasn’t a point in going over things ten thousand times. He had a million questions for her but none of them really mattered but one. As if she was reading his mind, she had said Aiden was in school. He did the math in his head to figure it out. Can I see him later? Travis asked. It didn’t matter if she introduced them or if Travis got a peek at him from far away. He just wanted to see how much the child had grown and how much he missed out. Please?
By now, his group of friends were staring at him, waiting for the ball to return to playing their game. Realizing this, he tossed it back to them and waved them on before turning back to Vivienne. At this point it was her call. She knew what was best for him at this point. Maybe she was already seeing someone and that guy was raising Aiden. Maybe Aiden already had a dad and didn’t need him. Trav had always been very family oriented so being away killed him, especially knowing he had a family out there somewhere that was doing just fine without him. If not that’s fine too. But maybe you can take my number just in case of anything? Emergencies, money issues, anything. Trav was just trying to be helpful but he didn’t really know how.
