Alias: Scar Experience: 3 How’d you find us? advertisement on Drive By Sample: robyn opened her eyes and stretched out her arms, a frown forming on her face. she rolled over on her bed to look at the time on her little digital clock. her eyes widened and she jumped out of bed. "shit." it was nine in the morning - the latest time she's ever accidentally slept in. sleeping in was something to embrace on lazy days, but most of the time robyn never had a lazy day. she worked quite a bit since holidays were coming up. her job was to take the flowers and roses and stylize them beautifully before adding the touches and colors to customer's needs. not to mention training a few newcomers and helping some florists out. the pro was that she could stay home and do it, or even go to a co-workers house. robyn was a hard worker and she tried to better herself all the time. what else was there to do? she didn't have much excitement in her life. it was mostly the same routine everyday. wake up, exercise, eat, deliver, work, and then go and attend to any of her younger sister's needs. did she enjoy it? well, let's just say she had gotten used to it. robyn took a quick shower and threw on some jeans and a nice blouse before slipping on a jacket and rushed to the elevator. the night before she had everything ready for when she woke. the bags of flowers were all ready in her car and her stash for the day was set in her wallet. everything would have gone as planned if it was for her stupid alarm clock. robyn walked to her car once she was on the ground level, where the large garage was for the apartments. she was used to the silent sound her shoes made on the concrete, rather than the clicking of heels. the blonde rarely wore heels. she considered them for special occasions and didn't like having to maneuver through the city in them. there was no doubt she tried to look her best, she never planned on stepping outside without a little makeup and a nice blouse. she took her phone out of her bag and glanced at the time. she didn't have time to drive anymore, and neither did she have time to walk. besides, walking with the number of bags of bouquets and single flowers was practically impossible. robyn decided to catch a cab. she put the phone up to her ear and asked for a cap to pick her up at the corner of her street asap. she was lucky enough to have one available and just around the corner. that had really made her day. robyn hauled all of the bags out of her car, carrying a few in each hand and a couple in her arms. she winced and hurried along outside the garage and down a block. she only had to wait a moment before the taxi cab pulled over by the curb and the trunk was popped. she carefully put everything inside and sat in the back. "thank you so much," she told the driver as she rummaged through her purse for her wallet. she told him where she needed to go a bit louder so he could hear her voice. robyn glanced from the window to the time on her phone. being late was inevitable, she couldn't change that. robyn's eyes then watched the road, making sure this driver was taking her to the right place. traffic of course was already jammed but it was actually quicker and less painful than walking. robyn was afraid the whole ride to the florist. this was the reason she never liked taking the cab - normally she would avoid it at all costs. but she really had no other choice. when he pulled over beside the little shop, she thanked him once more and gave him the money. she stepped out of the car and slammed the door shut. the blonde walked to the back of the cab and got everything out. she was a bit surprised to just see the taxi driver chilling in the driver's seat not even offering a hand. fine then, she thought as she took everything out and set it on the sidewalk. the guy turned right back into the traffic flow without a word to her. asshole. robyn let out a breath and attempted to hold all of the bags just as she had to get down the street from her apartment building. however it wasn't working as well. the shop's door was closed and she doubted anyone inside could see her but she made her way through the few people around to get to the door. she leaned back a bit to try and get the handle. after a second or two, robyn peeked through the window, her eyes narrowing. they must be in the back or not even open yet. but that didn't make any sense. robyn backed up a bit to haul up the couple bags being held up by her arms. if only new yorkers hadn't been so rude she'd have no problem. |
