She is terrified of being in a relationship with someone, afraid that she might do something to hurt them, that whatever driving force behind her daddy's high school behavior had somehow been handed down to her. Mikayla doesn't want to believe the stories about him, but they were enough to get into her head and make her wonder if she could do those types of things. Personality: Mikayla is a definite presence. When she walks into a room, people just notice her even though she’s not quite five feet tall. Spitfire and sassy are two words that many people use to describe her. Like her daddy, Draven, Mikayla is lively and bold, full of energy and spirit and always dressed to the ‘nines’ in her favorite fashion. She can be silly, giggly, girly and somewhat dramatic, but don’t confuse that with melodramatic and annoying. What Mikayla is, is expressive. She has no issue showing her emotions or how she’s feeling. With that comes the fact that she’s a spitfire and fierce. Upset her and you’ll see a temper that could rival a six foot four man. Mikayla has no qualms about tying her hair back and getting down and dirty, fighting like a dude, she has 4 brothers after all. She stands up for herself and what she believes in, especially her family and whoever doesn’t like that she comes from what society deems as an ‘alternative family life’ can kiss her ass twice. Mikayla is also very artistic and underneath the silly and sass, sensitive. Most people don’t get to see the sensitive side of her, but it’s there. It wasn’t necessarily easy growing up, though it wasn’t hard either. The Knight family never had a shortage of love and affection and Mikayla would never have traded her life for anyone else, but that doesn’t mean that when kids told her stories about her daddy it didn’t hurt. She could never look at him like the monster some kids portrayed him to be and there were nights she would cry herself to sleep thinking that people could be so cruel to say such hurtful things to her. Most of the time the only person she confides in is her older brother K.J., telling him her deepest and darkest of secrets and fears because somehow he always makes it better. She is very loyal, especially to her brother K.J. He is her world and means more to her than anyone and anything. Mikayla loves to draw and sketch like her papa, Kade. Sitting in his studio for hours, she would sketch out different designs, fashion usually, but sometimes just as an outlet. To her, music , fashion and art are the only worlds she feels completely comfortable in because she knows that’s exactly where she belongs. She is straight edge. Bottom line, Mikayla wants no part of drugs or alcohol. Her daddy, Draven, is a recovering drug addict and her papa, Kade, is a recovering alcoholic. It’s very clear to her that addiction runs in her family and she doesn’t want to fall into the demons that her fathers fought so hard against. She is also a vegetarian. When Mikayla was eight, she realized exactly what it meant to be eating meat and where it came from and that’s when her sensitive side showed loud and clear. It hurt her heart to know what she was doing to those ‘poor little animals’ and she decided from that day on that she wouldn’t eat another animal. Eight year old compassion has now turned into a cause and she is an active PETA member. More and more it's becoming apparent that Mikayla has an addictive personality, though to date her addictions have come in the form of fashion and family. If put into the wrong situation, Mikayla could definitely end up in as bad of a spot as her fathers were. She is their biological child, not adopted just like her siblings (not all of them have the same mother, there are two different surrogates that Draven and Kade used). Despite the fact that Mikayla is the third child, her eldest brother Jagger died when he was only a year old due to complications from pneumonia, so she never got to know him. Ten months after her brother K.J. was born, she came into the world with bright eyes, or so her daddy has always told her. Growing up, Mikayla had what she knew to be a normal life. She and her brother K.J. did everything together being so close in age and she never thought anything of it that she had two fathers. For the first several years of her life, Mikayla had seen so much of what she considered normal that she never thought to question it. When her ‘Aunt Charlie’s’ band was on tour, Mikayla and K.J. would travel with them since both of their fathers were the bands tour managers, so they got to see what life was like behind the industry that their father Draven worked in even when they weren’t on tour. As much as she loved music, Mikayla would sneak to Starlight Revenge’s tour bus to spend time with her ‘Uncle Toby’ and just watch him draw and play with her cousin Sarah. Even at five years old, Mikayla would sit there for hours and watch, mesmerized by Toby’s ability. It was from him that she also decided that she wanted to play the bass. When she turned five though, Mikayla was enrolled in school unlike most kids in her ‘family’ thanks to her insisting. It was fun, she got to play and do art and most of all be social, but the older she got the less Mikayla seemed to like it. Around the age of seven, she realized that society deemed her lifestyle ‘alternative’ and that kids could be very cruel. She would go home and cry in her room when no one was around, pulling herself together to ‘save face’ because she didn’t want to upset her fathers. By the time she was ten, that had all gotten very old and she decided that she was going to fight back and that she did. Instead of crying, she got physical and anyone that had something to say got a right hook usually to the eye. Mikayla was deemed ‘a bad kid’ even though she was defending her family. That was when she was pulled out and homeschooled for the next several years. Around the age of thirteen, Mikayla was approached by some of the kids in her neighborhood, cornered in an alley, where they proceeded to tell her horrific things about her daddy, Draven. They told her that he did awful things to other members of her ‘family’ and that he was going to hell and she was joining him because she was nothing more than a spawn of his. She didn’t cry or become violent, instead Mikayla shut down all her emotions and walked away, but that night was the first of many nights she cried herself to sleep because of the things kids said to her about her father. Mikayla couldn’t believe them, not such horrific things when her daddy was such a loving and sweet man, they had to be vicious lies. It was around that time that she started really using music and art as an outlet. Mikayla asked for a bass and got her first Daisy Rock. She went right to her Uncle Toby and asked him to teach her how to play and she practiced every single day. When she wasn’t practicing, she was drawing and when it came time for high school, instead of a traditional boarding school, Mikayla went to one that specialized boarding school for the arts. It was there that she really developed her talent for drawing and her portfolio was soon filled with different fashions. For the first time she felt like she belonged somewhere outside of her family. Still, she loved to tour with Alabaster Sunday, so it was like Mikayla got the best of two worlds. When she graduated, she continued to work on her portfolio and traveled with the band. When her brother KJ decided that he wanted to start a band, of course Mikayla was right on board. She supports him in everything that he does and she may just also be his biggest fan.
